I grew up on Jim Henson everything. Movies, TV, thinking one day I would work for him & the retirement of Caroll Spinney has stuck with me. I couldn’t help but think I was conjuring up Big Bird’s spirit covered in yellow fur.
Being described in a magazine years ago as the only drag queen to slay a muppet and make it look fierce. I must admit if it swings back to Jim Henson it fills me with joy and I’ll take it!!
I filmed this the same week Caroll Spinney retired and couldn’t help but think of Big Bird and all the puppets, creations and stories that formed me as a kid thanks to Mr. Spinney & Jim Henson.
